Erin Pride Interviewed For The Wellington Advertiser

Tracey and Laura had an opportunity to speak with Robin George of The Wellington Advertiser on the importance of bringing Pride into small town communities like Erin.


Bannayan said she knows Erin has a strong queer community and a strong community of allies, but the community feels disconnected. Organizers hope the upcoming event will strengthen connections. It takes someone, or a small group of people, to “be the first one to stand up and say ‘I’m here, I’m queer, and I want to find more people like me,’” Bannayan said. And on June 22, “We can actually all stand up in that park and look around and see we are not alone, we have support and we have a very vibrant and strong community to access.”
